Meant to be.

I met Olivia and Cody through my old roommate, Natalie.  Natalie would always bring up how Olivia and Cody were just meant to be and even though they were in high school and doing a long-distance relationship, she knew they were going to get married.  Natalie started crafting for their wedding months before they even got engaged.  And when the big day came this past summer, they wanted me to photograph.  Oh, the pressure!  I will share those photos someday, but there are just so many to sort through and they are all so lovely.

Regardless, I wanted to thank them by giving them a short post-wedding photoshoot in an environment where we could all be a bit more comfortable.  So back in October (I KNOW, so long ago...), we took some photos at Shelby Bottoms.  There are so many funny ones that I'll have to share some other time, but for now, here's the sweet ones.

Other Side of the Lens.

The Hubstobe and I got to play around on the other side of the camera for our engagement shoot done by our super talented and dear friend, Julie Holmes.  Here's a sneak peek - head on over to Love, The Lincolns to see more.

The S.S. Love

Guys, my little sister, Shannon, is beautiful.  And tall.  And athletic.  And smart.  And this list could go on forever...

After months of trying to coordinate a photoshoot with her and her boyfriend, Stu, we finally made it happen.  They've been together going on a year now, so I've had some time to get to know this handsome (and tall, and athletic, smart - gag me) man of hers.  They make such a good match, and I told her if they break up I'm not taking these photos down.

This was my first "love shoot" so we were all a little uncertain of the situation.  But they were all giggles which makes for amazing photos, and they weren't afraid to be mushy.  Hooray for cute, kissy couples!
Such a sweet love story...

And speaking of love stories, I got engaged and I'm blogging about it!

Oliver & Co.

Martina and I grew up together.  I vaguely remember playing gymnastics at her house and having a slumber party once.  For a better part of high school, one of my very best friends lived with her.  She is seriously one of the sweetest people I know.  Oliver is her and her husband's first born and, man, is he adorable.  He has got such sweet, puffy baby lips and I was so excited to spend a morning with Martina photographing her little man.

In other big news, my boyfriend of two and a half years popped the question.  Yes, that question.

I know Sara and Michael from my church community.  And while I don't know them incredibly well, I do know from our occasional interactions that they are one of the friendliest couples in Nashville.  I saw them a couple of times during their pregnancy, but didn't think to ask if they would like a few photos of Judah until after his birth.

We set up a quick Saturday morning home shoot and Judah was pretty lively the entire time.  Being my first time photographing a wee one, I was a little concerned with how to go about working with a baby.   Sara and Michael were so patient and we kept trying to put Judah into the child's pose, but he wasn't having any of it and turned it into more of a frog pose.  Sara tried rocking him to make him a bit easier to pose.  He still wanted to do his own thing afterwards, but some of my favorite photos from the morning were the candid ones of a new mom snuggling with her firstborn.

After sitting on the photos for about a week and a half, I revisited them and was quite pleased with how darling the photos came out.  So without further adieu, I present handsome, little Judah to you.
